Adhesive tape structures
The type of surface and duration of use determines which tape is suitable for the application. Paper tape, PVC tape and linen tape are roughly the common carriers.

Crepe paper / washi paper
Structure, strength, and impregnation(water resistance) are the common properties between masking tapes.

PVC tape
The thickness (mu) of the film and the way the surface has been treated are factors in the quality of PVC tapes.

Linen tape
The mesh (woven linen) figures the quality of the tapes. Also the thickness (mu) and PE coating are factors that are substantial factors in the quality of linen tapes. Some linen tapes have an additional UV filter which increases UV resistance to several weeks.
